CHARTER

Purpose:

The Brigade will act as defenders of the Barony of Ashton and the surrounding lands, especially in times of need, and always will be considered (as it has since its beginnings) the town garrison.

Requirements for membership:

The requirements are a desire to oversee the safety of citizens of Ashton, the County, and all of Stonegate proper, when any of the members of this order are traveling throughout the Kingdom of Stonegate.  All potential members are given a probationary period at the leader's discretion, to demonstrate the member's various attributes, such as willingness to follow orders, ability to work as a team with established members, cooperation with the ruling nobility, bravery, honor, skills and loyalty.

The colors worn shall be Black and Red quartered for some of the officers, but a red medallion with the Jackal head will be worn about the neck by all.

As the founders of this group, we do hereby pledge to follow the laws of the land to the best of our ability.  We will not harbor criminals, nor shall we have provisions of our charter, either secret or through vagary, that are contrary to the wishes and interests of the King and his subjects.  We shall never harbor rebellious elements and we shall always be forthcoming with information concerning the safety and security of the land and the people, both noble and common.  To these things we pledge ourselves, and all of those that follow our cause as members of this order.
