Blanket Services are offered as a way for the players of NERO Ohio and NERO West Virginia to take part in the Tyrran Campaign Setting© outside of the course of normally scheduled events. The services outlined below can only be offered by the appropriate Plot person and with the express approval of the WAR Office. All payments must be made in full to the Wheeling Association of Roleplaying before any Blankets will be applied, and all fees are non-refundable once the service has been provided. All of these services are limited in scope by the NERO International Services document found at the bottom of this page. Tailored Adventure (Module): This service involves a 2-4 hour adventure in which the party will interact with NPCs in an adversarial environment. We will offer adventures at virtually any time when events are not running. Advance notice of at least two weeks is needed for an adventure to be setup and run. Most adventures are run for 6 to 10 people although any number from one to twenty can attend, and usually have a start and a finish involving one topic. The cost to PC and/or NPC a Tailored Adventure is the same as that for a Module Day. Tailored Adventures count as closed modules, and the group cannot interact with other PCs once the game has begun. Tailored Adventures are always subject to the availability of the required NPCs, and only a certified NERO Ohio and/or NERO West Virginia Plot Team Member can oversee a NERO Tailored Adventure.
NERO
® Plot Submission, small:
Players may submit plot write-ups to the Campaign Plot Team or any one of the
Local Plot Teams explaining what they prefer their character to be doing for any
period of time (usually from 5 to 30 days) between events. The Small Plot Submission
is at least 5 sentences long but not more than half a printed page of Times New
Roman Text at font-size 12. A response will be sent within 15 days explaining
what occurred with the character for that period of time.
NERO
® Plot Submission, Large:
Players may submit plot write-ups to the Campaign Plot Team or any one of the
Local Plot Teams explaining what they prefer their character to be doing for any
period of time (usually from 5 to 30 days) between events. The Large Plot Submission
is rather extensive, but cannot be more than two printed pages of Times New
Roman Text at font-size 12. A response will be sent within 15 days explaining
what occurred with the character for that period of time.
NERO ® Role-Play Session: Players may interact with Plot in a non-adversarial way outside of an Event setting through a person to person meeting. During this time the player will interact with certain characters and/or groups while role-playing through what their character does. There are are two types of Role-play sessions available, a 30 minute role-play session (Short) and a 1 hour role-play session (Long). The charge for this service is $10 for a short session and $20 for a long session. A short session awards the character with a 0.5 Blanket, while a long session awards a 1.0 Blanket. No more than one full blanket can be gained through role-play sessions per month, per character. Role-Play Sessions are always subject to the availability of the required NPCs, and only a certified NERO Ohio and/or NERO West Virginia Plot Team Member can oversee a NERO Role-Play Session. Coins cannot be used to "max-out" Blankets earned in this manner. Items, training, and/or coins can never be gained/created by a character taking part in a Plot Submission or Role-Play Session in this way.

This
section used to list all the possible services that Intl. and Local NERO ®
chapters offer. If you don’t see a service that you offer, please submit it
for inclusion with a general description so that all other NERO ® Chapters can
utilize it. The NERO ® Rules Group will review all submissions to approve of
the experience award as well as take that Service into account when creating the
XP to Build ratio’s for player characters.
Character
History Assistance:
Players may use the in-game knowledge contained in the players handbook to
create a believable character history. The history should then be submitted to
the local chapter plot council for review and approval. Many chapters respond to
submissions within two weeks though 30 days is also widely used. There is no
charge for assisting and reviewing character histories of our players.
Adventure
(Module):

Two-day
Weekend Event:
Weekend events usually take place beginning Friday night and continue until
Sunday at about noon. There are adventures to go on with puzzle and riddles to
solve, large battles to participate in, and a tremendous amount of interaction
with other players. Most chapters charge more if they have no advance notice, or
pre-payment to attend an event. I.e. Friday to Sunday would award a maximum of 2
Experience Blankets.
Extended
Weekend Events:
Extended weekend events last for several days, from Friday to Monday, or
Tuesday, etc. the extended weekends allow for 24 hours of more role-play! It
costs more to attend extended weekend events. One blanket is awarded per 24-hour
period at these events. I.e. Friday to Monday would award a maximum of 3
Experience Blankets.
Extended
Character History Assistance:
To aid players in creating a solid character history, many NERO ® chapters,
NERO ® Recruiters, and NERO ® representatives provide extended character
history assistance. The player is met with or spoken with via telephone or
e-mail and his preferences are determined and an extensive multi-page character
history is written. The player is taking the time to develop his or her
character and is rewarded a maximum of one blanket. This service can also be
used to continue the story-line of a character, placing their experiences into
various written forms including diary entries and newsletters articles. A
Maximum of 2 of these can be purchased per month.
NERO
